Anika Schwarzlose (presentatie en werk)
Superparliament

Judith Westerveld (werk)
Someone’s mother tongue / Iemand’s moedertaal

House of Cosy Cushions (optreden)

A2 <3D Super Terrain (art prints)

Anika Schwarzlose (presentation and work)

Superparliament

German artist Anika Schwarzlose will present the project Superparliament; a reflection on the impact of architecture on negotiation and decision making. The internationally most widely used parliamentary sitting order is based on the greek atrium, suggesting harmony and balance. This layout seems not to align anymore with our perception of current global politics.

Judith Westerveld (work)

Someone’s mother tongue  / Iemand’s moedertaal

Judith Westerveld (NL/South Africa) has done research in language centres in Amsterdam-Noord that teach Dutch to people that have migrated or found refuge in the Netherlands. She uses various print making techniques to make the language learning process visible. Words, phrases and image alternate between readability and decay of meaning and form. The image is an echo of the learning process of a new language, of the preservation of the mother tongue and the way in which these inevitably become intertwined.

House of Cosy Cushions (performance)

House of Cosy Cushions is the band of Groningen’s visual artist Richard Bolhuis. With their minimal, dark, folky but also ambient soundscapes they bring the audience into a beautiful musical trip. Today they will play at 9pm so be on time!

Julie Wolfe (art book and film)

Julie Wolfe is a visual and conceptual artist living and working in Washington D.C. Her work is featured in institutions and collections internationally and has been reviewed in ARTnews, BBC American and Hyperallergic. Today she presents her latest book and short film.

A2 <3D Super Terrain (art prints)

The French graphic designers collective Super Terrain (Quentin Bodin, Luc de Fouquet and Lucas Meyer) worked early November in residency on a spatial installation in Extrapool. A spatial installation made entirely out of A2 Riso prints responding to different colours of light. In addition, Knust/Extrapool published three different A2 Riso art prints, that will be on view and sell tonight in AGA LAB

1000 Pinguïns door Wasco (artbook and demonstration)

Dutch artist Wasco will be exhibiting his project “1000 Pinguïns”  for which he has drawn one thousand penguins! Some of them are realistic or graphic, others comic or cubistic. 1000 Pinguïns is a playful experiment which will bring a smile on your face.

Olga Ganzha (artbook and demonstration)

Russian artist Olga Ganzha will be presenting her Riso printed book “Motherland is calling”.This project researches Eastern European ‘mother vs. motherland’ phenomenon. The first stage of the project is focused on a statue of the Mother-Motherland in Volgograd (RU).
